Click on the name of the search engine, fill out the form, and when you're done click on the Wizard's DuelTM logo in the upper left. [Open Directory Project] You have to scroll down a bit. Requires: Address (Site URL), Title, and Description. [AltaVista] Ok, so they're lame. Gotta type in the code, and give the url. [Yahoo] Choose $199 or free :-). Give them the info. Skip the rest until you get to submit. Submit. [Lycos] Give them the Address and my email, but please un-check the notify me box. [Excite] Scroll down, give them the address, my email, and change the category from Autos to Games [About.com] Give them my name (Nils), email, title, URL, and description [Northern Light] Give them the Address, my name (Nils), and my email, title, URL, and description *Keep in mind that many search engines (AOL Search, AltaVista, HotBot, Google, Lycos, Netscape Search) will all pull from the same directory (DMOZ Open Directory Project). Also there are some search engines not listed which have been assimulated by the ones above (hotbot, webcrawler). Lastly, there are search engines which change money, but those are not necessarily the same search engines that people actually use. Bottom line: this list was put together to make the most effecient use of time and money. |
